Indian Ex-Services League had the Annual General Governing Council Meeting and Elections to elect the Office Bearers and the Council Members on 04 March 2013 at 9, Nyaya Marg Chanakyapuri New Delhi .  Delegates from various states converged at IESL HQ for the elections .  The elections were held in a very cordial and healthy atmosphere. Lt Gen (Retd) Balbir Singh, PVSM, VSM** was elected to the post of President of Indian Ex- Services League.  Brig Kartar Singh from Rajasthan was elected as Sr. Vice President , Col P M Hameed from Kerala and  Brig Inderjit Singh Gakhal  from Punjab were elected as Vice Presidents.  Lt Cdr B D Sharma was elected as the Hony Treasurer of the League.  
Brig RKS Gulia the outgoing President of the League welcomed the  newly elected delegates and the new team of office bearers and wished them success in their endeavors for the  welfare of the veterans and widows.  The newly elected President Lt Gen Balbir Singh , PVSM,VSM** thanked the outgoing team ably led by his predecessor Brig Ram Karan Singh for their appreciable work done for the welfare of veterans and widows.

IESL MANAGEMENT MEETS HON’BLE DEFENCE MINISTER SHRI A K ANTONY: 06 AUG 2011

On invitation of the Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri A K Antony the IESL Management called on him. The IESL team comprised of Brig R K S Gulia, President IESL, Col Bhagh Singh, President Punjab Ex-Services League and Maj K N Sethi. It was a meaningful and positive meeting.

The Hon’ble Defence Minister gave indication that substantial concessions/remuneration are on the anvil for the Ex-servicemen community including widows and WW-II Veterans. He also agreed to visit the IESL HQ.   Photographs of the meeting are published below:-

IESL Delegation Meets Hon'ble Defence Minister of India

1.     A meeting was held with Hon'ble Defence Minister of India Shri A K Antony on 20 Jul 2011 at his residential office. The Indian Ex-Services League delegation led by Brig R K S Gulia, President IESL along with Col Sukhbir Singh Gen Secy IESL, Cdr B D Sharma and Maj K N Sethi,  briefed the Defence Minister on the long outstanding issues related to the welfare of Ex-Servicemen fraternity. A copy of the outstanding issues put forward to the Defence Minister were handed over to him. The Hon'ble Defence Minister assured that he would get the same examined. The issues put forward are as follows:-

·        REQUEST CONSENT TO BE CHIEF GUEST FOR SPECIAL ANNUAL FUNCTION OF IESL ON 27 AUG/10 SEP/ 24 SEP.


·        IESL PRESIDENT AND ZONAL PRESIDENTS TO BE APPOINTED PERMANENT MEMBERS OF KENDRIYA SAINIK BOARD-KSB.


·        PENSION ANOMALIES OF VETERANS AND WIDOWS NOT BEING RESOLVED DESPITE ASSURANCES.


·        ONE RANK ONE PENSION.

·        LATERAL PLACEMENTS OF ESM.


·        NO ACTION ON PAST MEETINGS-COMMITMENTS

2.      Maj K N Sethi briefly apprised the Defence Minister about the disparity in the Majors Pension. The Defence Minister asked Maj K N Sethi to send his grievance in writing addressed to him in person. Photographs taken on the occasion are reproduced below.

  • MOD HAS BEEN CONTESTING ALL THE COURT JUDGMENTS GIVEN IN FAVOUR OF EX-SERVICEMEN THUS CONVEYING ANTI EX-SERVICEMEN APPROACH. DESW MAY BE ADVISED TO BE FAIR TO EX-SERVICEMEN COMMUNITY AND WIDOWS.
